Regions :: North America :: Canada Sector Rail Traffic Rises Despite Storms11:39 AM MST | February 18, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.4% year-on-year last week, to 43,677 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) says. U.S. traffic rose 5.4%, to 27,544 cars. Canadian traffic was up 20.8%, to 14,948 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 13.6%, to 1,185 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week's totals. However, the U.S. saw a sequential decline largely due to major snowstorms on the East Coast, AAR says.
