Sasol Enters North American Shale Market in $1.03-billion Deal

Sasol says it has entered the North American shale gas market by acquiring a 50% interest in Talisman Energy’s (Calgary, AB) Farrell Creek assets at the Montney shale play in British Columbia for C1.05 billion ($1.03 billion).   The companies will establish a 50-50 general partnership in Canada that will own the Farrell Creek assets, while each company will also hold an undivided 50% participation interest in the associated gas-to-liquids (GTL) gathering systems and processing facility. “The acquisition will accelerate our upstream growth while...
