Maverick Synfuels (Research Triangle Park, NC), a leader in alternative chemicals and fuels production technology; and Petrostar Petroleum (Nanton, AL), an oil and gas exploration company, have formed the Maverick Northstar joint venture to facilitate deploying and operating gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
