DSM to Acquire Ocean Nutrition Canada for $528 Million

DSM says it has entered into a definitive agreement with Clearwater Fine Foods (Bedford, Canada) and funds managed by Richardson Capital (Winnipeg, Canada) to acquire Ocean Nutrition Canada (Dartmouth, Canada) for C$540 million ($528 million). Ocean Nutrition Canada is a supplier of fish-oil derived omega-3 fatty acids to the dietary supplement and food and beverage markets. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2012.
