Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 1.9%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 1.9% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 21 September, to 41,581 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 0.3%, to 29,293 cars. Canadian traffic was up 11.9%, to 11,213 cars, while Mexican traffic was down 24.5%, to 1,075 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals.
