Chemicals sector rail traffic declines 0.1%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 0.1% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 15 June, to 41,731 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic declined 0.7%, to 29,378 cars. Canadian traffic was up 1.7%, to 11,000 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 3%, to 1,353 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic increased 1.2% during the week ended 15 June, to 384,032 cars, AAR says.
