Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 9.5%3:56 PM MDT | July 22, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic rose 9.5% year-on-year last week, to 43,888 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 8.2%, to 29,515 cars. Canadian traffic rose 15.1%, to 13,193 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 12.1%, to 1,180 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week, which included the Independence Day holiday in the U.S. Overall, North American fright rail traffic rose 8% year-on-year last week, to 365,096 cars.
