Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 4.7%3:35 PM MDT | July 28, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 4.7% year-on-year last week, to 41,176 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 4.1%, to 30,010 cars. Canadian traffic rose 3.9%, to 9,851 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 30.6%, to 1,315 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 1.7% year-on-year last week, to 381,790 cars, AAR says.
