Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 13%5:02 PM MST | November 11, 2010 | Vincent Valk North American chemicals sector rail traffic rose 13% year-on-year last week, to 45,354 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. U.S. traffic was up 9%, to 28,476 cars. Canadian traffic rose 22.9%, to 15,887 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 9.8%, to 991 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals overall and in the U.S., though it rose in Canada and Mexico. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 5.9% year-on-year last week, to 379,358 cars, though it fell from the prior week. Year-to-date, chemicals sector rail...
