Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 10.5%5:04 PM MDT | October 28, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.5% year-on-year last week, to 44,563 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. U.S. traffic was up 6.3%, to 28,552 cars. Canadian traffic rose 21.6%, to 15,041 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 11.2%, to 970 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 8.7% year-on-year last week, to 391,794 cars.
