Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 10.1%11:17 AM MST | January 14, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.1% year-on-year last week, to 42,185 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 7.9%, to 30,085 cars. Canadian traffic rose 19.9%, to 11,160 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 16.1%, to 940 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals, though U.S. and Mexican traffic rose. Overall, freight rail traffic in North America rose 16.1%, to 368,809...
