Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 0.4%2:50 PM MST | December 1, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 0.4% year-on-year for the week ended November 26, to 36,083 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic fell 2.3%, to 24,504 cars. Canadian traffic rose 6.9%, to 10,518 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 4.7%, to 1,061 cars. The week included the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 4.6% year-on-year for the week ended November 26, to 353,210 cars.
