Regions :: North America :: Canada Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 1%11:16 AM MDT | July 13, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 1% year-on-year during the week ended July 7, to 38,265 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 5.1%, to 26,517 cars. Canadian traffic rose 4.4%, to 10,234 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 65.1%, to 1,514 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 0.2% year-on-year during the week ended July 7, to 331,162 cars, AAR says.
