Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Declines 5%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 5% year-on-year during the week ended May 26, to 40,732 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 1.7%, to 30,079 cars. Canadian traffic fell 17.3%, to 9,435 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 37%, to 1,218 cars.
