Agrium's Earnings Rise on Higher Sales, Stronger Demand

Agrium reported first-quarter net income of $171 million, compared to a net loss of $1 million in the year-ago quarter. Earnings per share of $1.09/share beat Wall Street estimates of 91 cts/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York).
