Earnings per share of $1.09/share beat Wall Street estimates of 91 cts/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York). Sales were up 60% from the year-ago period, to $2.95 billion. Net earnings from continuing operations, which exclude earnings associated with AWB Limited Commodity Management business, which is under a definitive sales agreement to Cargill, were $160 million.
