Regions :: North America ZeaChem Secures Funding for Oregon Biorefinery9:48 PM MST | January 26, 2012 | Rebecca Coons ZeaChem (Lakewood, CO) says it has been chosen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to receive a $232.5 million loan guarantee toward construction of ZeaChem’s first commercial-scale biorefinery. The 25 million gals/year facility, located adjacent to ZeaChem’s demonstration facility at Boardman, OR, is expected to come online next year. The plant will use woody biomass and agricultural residues to produce ethanol, other biofuels, and biobased chemicals. The award is part of USDA’s Biorefinery Assistance Program. ZeaChem...
