Williams expects to bring Geismar cracker back online in April 2014

Williams announced today that it will restart its damaged Geismar, LA olefins plant in April 2014. The plant has been offline since an explosion on 13 June that killed two employees. The restart plan includes bringing online a previously planned 600-million lb/year expansion that will increase ethylene production capacity at the plant to 1.95 billion lbs/year, the company says.
