W.R. Grace to exit silica sol FCC catalyst production with closure of Lake Charles plant

W. R. Grace plans to close its 35,000 m.t./year silica sol based fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst manufacturing operation at Lake Charles, LA during the third quarter of this year, the company said on Friday. Grace will exit the business with the closure of the plant after 3 decades of production.
