Regions :: North America US court overrules EPA on 2012 cellulosic ethanol mandate1:52 PM MST | January 28, 2013 | Kara Sissell The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit has thrown out an EPA mandate regarding the amount of cellulosic ethanol that the US should have produced in 2012 to comply with the federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program. Refiners and other groups sued the agency, saying the 2012 amount of cellulosic ethanol calculated by EPA did exceeded EPA's statutory authority and did not reflect domestic production capacities. American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) says it welcomes the ruling, which “puts EPA on notice that it must act as a neutral...
