U of Wisconsin–Madison researchers identify way to transform biomass waste into biobased chemical feedstock

University of Wisconsin–Madison (Madison, WI) chemists have identified an approach to using oxygen gas to convert lignin, a by-product of biofuel production, into a form that could allow it to replace fossil fuels as a source of chemical feedstocks, the university has announced.
