Solvay declares force majeure on hydroquinone from Baton Rouge plant

Solvay said on Wednesday that its aroma performance business has been adversely impacted by a significant disruption in its hydroquinone (HQ) production, following an equipment failure at its Baton Rouge, LA facility. The situation has forced Solvay to declare force majeure for all HQ supply from the Baton Rouge plant. Resumption of production is expected on or before mid-February 2014.
