Sekisui Completes Acquisition of Celanese’s PVOH Business

Sekisui Chemical (Osaka) says it has completed the previously announced acquisition of the polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) business of Celanese, for a price of about $173 million, excluding the value of accounts receivable and payable retained by Celanese. Plans for the acquisition was first announced in April 2009, and it includes facilities at Calvert City, KY, Pasadena, TX, one unit within the complex at Tarragona, Spain, and resources from Celanese’s Houston Technology Center.
