Regions :: North America Rentech Nitrogen completes urea capacity expansion12:05 PM MST | January 15, 2013 | Lindsay Frost Rentech Nitrogen has completed its previously announced capacity expansion at its East Dubuque, IL, nitrogen fertilizer facility. Urea production has increased by 21,900 m.t./year, or a 15% expansion. This is a 2,650-m.t. greater increase than a previous estimate of 19,250 m.t./year and is based on actual plant operation, the company says. Cost of the expansion was about $7 million. The additional urea tonnage will be converted into and sold as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) to Yara under a long-term agreement based on index pricing. The partnership began in...
