Producers Hike VAM Prices

Two producers have announced price increases for vinyl acetate monomer (VAM). Dow Chemical says it will increase the off-schedule price for the product lines of both acrylic monomers and VAM in all regions due to continued pressure on margins. Prices for acrylates and VAM will increase by 3 cts/lb, or $66/m.t, and prices for methacrylate and specialty monomers will increase by $4 cts/lb, or $88/m.t.
