Regions :: North America Praxair Technology to be Installed at Chinese Steel Mill11:10 AM MST | January 25, 2010 | Vincent Valk Praxair's direct-injection technology, which uses nitrogen along with fuel gas to improve the heat-treating phase of steel production, will be installed at a planned steel mill in Jiangsu Province, China, the company says. The mill will be operated by Marcegaglia (Montova, Italy), a steelmaker, and have a capacity of 350,000 tons/year of steel. A Praxair plant will be built to produce nitrogen for the direct-injection process at the steel mill. The plant's capacity will total 100 tons/day of nitrogen.
