Penrice ends salt supply agreement with Ridley as it switches to ANSAC soda ash imports

Penrice Soda Holdings (Adelaide, Australia) and Ridley Corp. have announced an early termination by Penrice of their long-term take-or-pay contract for salt supply from the Ridley salt field at Dry Creek, South Australia (SA), to Penrice's Osborne soda ash plant at Adelaide. The contract, worth 12 million Australian dollars ($10.97 million)/year was originally due to expire in 2019. The agreement follows Penrice's announcement in January that it would cease production at the loss-making Osborne plant, Australia’s only soda ash facility, at the end of June...
