NewMarket earnings rise, but fall short of estimates

NewMarket's fourth-quarter net income rose 57.6% year-on-year (YOY), to $53.1 million, or $3.94/share, the company says. Excluding the impact of a $25/share special dividend paid during the quarter, earnings totaled $3.47/share, short of analysts' consensus of $4.11/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York). Petroleum additives revenues, which encompass all of the company's chemicals sales, totaled $511.2 million, up 2.4% from the year-ago quarter.
