New Jersey biofuel firm hires former BP engineer, advances scale-up

A New Jersey–based alternative fuel developer says it is nearing completion of a demonstration-scale unit and has hired a former BP Biofuels engineer to lead commercialization efforts. Primus Green Energy's STG+ technology uses natural gas- or biomass-derived synthetic gas to produce high-octane gasoline or jet fuel. The company expects a demonstration-scale unit at its Hillsborough, NJ, headquarters to begin operations later this quarter. It also expects to break ground on a 25-million gal/year unit later this year. Cost and location were not disclosed...
