Minerals Technologies beats estimates

Minerals Technologies (MTI) today reported net income up 8% year-on-year (YOY), to $18.5 million, on sales up 45%, to $372.5 million. Excluding special items, such as charges related to the acquisition of Amcol, adjusted earnings totaled 94 cts/share, up 49% YOY, and well ahead of analysts’ consensus estimate of 74 cts/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).
