Regions :: North America Louisiana Petrochemical Plants Shut as Hurricane Isaac Hits Land (Updated)9:55 AM MDT | August 30, 2012 | Lindsay Frost Several petrochemical and refinery facilities in the coastal regions of Louisiana have shut down or reduced operating rates in advance of Hurricane Isaac. The storm was officially a category one hurricane as it hit land in Louisiana, and as of 10:45AM EST Thursday morning, Isaac continues to cause flooding across southeast Louisiana, and tornadoes are being reported as it travels further northwest at 8 mph, according to the latest update from the Weather Channel and the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
