Louisiana Petrochemical Plants Shut as Hurricane Isaac Hits Land (Updated)

Several petrochemical and refinery facilities in the coastal regions of Louisiana have shut down or reduced operating rates in advance of Hurricane Isaac. The storm was officially a category one hurricane as it hit land in Louisiana, and as of 10:45AM EST Thursday morning, Isaac continues to cause flooding across southeast Louisiana, and tornadoes are being reported as it travels further northwest at 8 mph, according to the latest update from the Weather Channel and the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
