LSB awards nitric acid plant contract to SAIC Constructors

LSB Industries (LSB, Oklahoma City, OK) says it has entered into an agreement with SAIC Constructors to build a 360,000-m.t./year nitric acid plant and a 40,000-m.t./year nitric acid concentrator unit. The plants will be built at LSB’s site in El Dorado, AK. SAIC will manage construction of the plants, under the terms of the agreement. The total cost of the plants is estimated to be about $120 million. The plants are expected to be completed by mid-2015, subject to the company receiving environmental permits.
