Gevo Files Additional Patent Claims Against Butamax

Gevo (Englewood, CO) has filed an additional lawsuit against isobutanol rival Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE) alleging Butamax infringes on its newly issued patent, No. 8,153,415 ('415 Patent), describing "Reduced By-Product Accumulation for Improved Production of Isobutanol." The ‘415 Patent covers technology which eliminates two pathways that compete for isobutanol pathway intermediates in yeast, Gevo says.
