DSM Invests in Probiotics Start Up

DSM says its subsidiary DSM Ventures and private equity firm Capital Resource Partners (Boston, MA) have each invested in Ganeden Biotech (Mayfield Heights, OH), a manufacturer of dietary supplements for digestive health. DSM and CSP have invested a combined total of $12 million. Further details about DSM’s share of the investment were not disclosed. Ganeden’s products are based on the use of a spore-forming and lactic-acid-producing bacterium, Bacillus coagulans. DSM says the investment will contribute to the company’s innovation ambitions in...
