Regions :: North America Court dismisses personal injury claims against Nalco's Corexit11:11 AM MST | December 3, 2012 | Kara Sissell A Louisiana district court has dismissed personal injury claims filed against Nalco related to alleged harm from use of the oil dispersant Corexit following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The court ruled that federal priorities for oil spill cleanup preempt personal injury claims. Nalco parent company, Ecolab, says it is “satisfied with the decision” but declined requests for further comment. Plaintiffs including workers and residents filed suit in August 2010 against Nalco, saying the dispersant increased the health risks...
