Regions :: North America Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 3.3%3:26 PM MDT | March 21, 2013 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 3.3% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 16 March, to 43,388 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was up 1.3%, to 30,143 cars. Canadian traffic rose 11%, to 12,088 cars, while Mexican traffic declined 15.5%, to 1,157 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals, though it declined in Canada and Mexico.
