Chemicals Management: Preparing for TSCA Reform

One of the most sweeping legislative efforts facing chemical firms this year will be the introduction of a revised “Kids-Safe Chemical Act” by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D., NJ), which Lautenberg aides say is slated for later this month or October. Lautenberg has said the bill will reflect the principles announced in August by an industry coalition headed by ACC, and by environmental groups headed by Environmental Defense Fund senior scientist Richard Dennison (EDF; New York). A key question will be if TSCA reform has sufficient momentum come next spring, Washington insiders say....
