Cargill Builds Bio-Based Polyol Plant

Cargill says it has broken ground on a $22-million, renewable polyols manufacturing plant at Chicago. The facility will produce Cargill's proprietary soybean-based polyols—an ingredient that replaces petroleum-based chemicals for the production of polyurethane (PU) products, including furniture cushioning, bedding foams, automotive seats, and building insulation.
