ACC: EPA Should Abandon its Changes to Dioxin Cleanup Goals2:49 PM MDT | April 12, 2010 | KARA SISSELL EPA should abandon plans to revise its cleanup goals for dioxin, at least until the agency completes its long anticipated dioxin reassessment, according to ACC’s comments on EPA’s proposal. The agency’s revisions would establish a much more conservative goal for what are deemed acceptable concentrations of dioxin in soil, a key component for gaining regulatory approval for remediation plans. The science the agency uses to establish the stricter goals is not the best available, and EPA did not take into account the costs to communities and other stakeholders, ACC says....
