Molycorp begins production at California rare earths complex

Molycorp (Greenwood Village, CO) says its has begun operations at its rare earth manufacturing complex at Mountain Pass, CA. The company plans to ramp up to its full-scale, phase-1 run rate of 19,050 m.t./year of rare earth oxide (REO) equivalent by mid-year. The phase-2 rate is expected to run up to 40,000 m.t./year of REO equivalent.
