Borouge Plans Third Petchems Complex

Borouge (Abu Dhabi) says it has embarked on a feasibility study to build Borouge 3, a further expansion of its polyolefins operations in Abu Dhabi to add approximately 2.5 million m.t./year of capacity by end of 2014. The project will more than double the company's capacity. Borouge, a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) and Borealis, says the proposed expansion would enable it to meet the growing demands of specific polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP)markets in the Middle East and Asia in pursuit of its strategy to create value...
