Sipchem starts up ethyl and butyl acetate complex at Al Jubail

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem; Al Khubar, Saudi Arabia) has started up its ethyl acetate and butyl acetate manufacturing plant at Al Jubail. The facility is owned by Sipchem Chemicals, a wholly owned Sipchem subsidiary. The plant’s capacity is 100,000 m.t./year of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate.   The investment is in line with Sipchem’s plans to move downstream and to achieve full integration with its other manufacturing facilities. Acetic acid feedstock will be supplied by International Acetyl Co., a Sipchem affiliate...
