Sipchem awards PBT plant contract to ThyssenKrupp Uhde

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem; Al Khubar) says that its affiliate Sipchem Chemicals Co. has awarded to ThyssenKrupp Uhde an engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning contract to build a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin plant. The plant, which will be built at Al Jubail, will be designed to produce 63,000 m.t./year of PBT resin.   Sipchem estimates the cost of the project to be approximately 600 million Saudi riyals ($160 million) and says full operations at the plant are expected at  the end of...
