Sipchem Awards Ethyl Acetate Plant Contract

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem; Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) has awarded the engineering, design and construction contract for its previously announced ethyl acetate complex to eTEC Engineering & Construction Co. (Seoul). The plant will be built at Jubail, Saudi Arabia downstream of Sipchem's acetyls complex. It will be designed to produce 100,000 m.t./year of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, using the Rhodia technology. Production is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2013.
