(Sharq; Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia), a 50-50 joint venture between Sabic and a Japanese consortium led by Mitsubishi Corp., says it started commercial production on April 1 at a 2.8 million-m.t./year expansion at its Al Jubail petrochemical complex. The expansion will boost Sharq’s production at the complex to about 5 million m.t./year of petrochemicals. Ethylene capacity at the complex was expanded by about 1.3 million m.t./year, to 2.46 million m.t./year; ethylene glycol capacity was expanded by 700,000 m.t./year, to 1.38...
