Saudi Polymers complex offline again

National Petrochemical Co. (Petrochem; Riyadh) has announced an unscheduled shutdown of its Saudi Polymer Co.’s complex at Al Jubail starting 30 June 2013. Saudi Polymer is owned 65% by Petrochem and 35% by Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical. The company expects the shutdown to last about 2 weeks and says it will be reflected in Petrochem’s second and third quarter 2013 results. The financial impact of the shutdown is expected to be about 70 million Saudi riyals ($18.7 million).   The shutdown is the second since commercial production started...
