Sabic CEO Expects Petchem Demand to Remain Weak Through Year-End

Market conditions are likely to remain challenging through late 2009, Sabic CEO Mohamed Al-Mady told attendees at the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association’s (NPRA; Washington) International Petrochemical Conference (IPC), held in San Antonio, TX last week. “The signs of recovery are weak,” Al-Mady says. “Our expectation is that it will be toward the end of the year or the beginning of 2010 before things start moving.” Al mady: Sabic sectors are a mixed bag.
