Mideast fertilizer industry will be impacted by North American shale gas, GPCA says

Fertilizer capacity in the Middle East is expected to grow to 50.4 million m.t./year by 2016 compared with 31.4 million m.t./year in 2012, a more than 60% increase, according to the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA; Dubai). However, global developments in the petrochemical sector are set to have serious repercussions on the future of the industry, the GPCA said today.
