Regions :: Middle East :: Saudi Arabia Kayan Awards Oleochemicals Engineering Contract to Sinopec8:05 AM MDT | August 19, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Saudi Kayan, a Sabic affiliate, has signed a SR488 million ($130 million) contract with Sinopec Engineering (Beijing) to build a previously announced natural detergent alcohols plant at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The plant will be designed to produce 50,000 m.t./year and is expected to start during the second half of 2013. Sinopec Engineering will provide detailed engineering and equipment and carry out the construction of the plant, which will be the first of its kind in the Mideast.
