Evonik's superabsorbent polymers plant completed in Saudi Arabia

Evonik Industries says that the Saudi Acrylic Polymer Co. (Sapco), its joint venture with the Saudi Acrylic Acid Co., has completed the construction of its superabsorbent polymer plant at Al Jubail. Sapco has signed the mechanical completion certificate for the plant, an important start-up milestone, Evonik says. The plant was built under Evonik license and is scheduled to start commercial production in fourth-quarter 2013. The plant's production capacity is about 80,000 m.t./year.
