Chemanol closes para-formaldehyde plant following a fire

Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol; Dammam, Saudi Arabia) has announced that a fire broke out at its para-formaldehyde plant at Al Jubail on Friday afternoon. The company’s firefighters, with the help of nearby companies and civil defense teams, have extinguished the fire. However, the facility will be down until the investigation into the causes of the incident is complete and the financial impact is assessed under the company’s insurance for the plant.
